Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 1 package refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade pizza dough)

Filling

  • 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce or pizza sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices (or your choice of toppings such as sausage, mushrooms, bell peppers, olives)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Other

  • Olive oil for brushing (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the pot pies.
  2. Prepare Ramekins: Lightly grease 4-6 small ramekins or oven-safe bowls to prevent the dough from sticking during baking.
  3. Roll Dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8 inch thickness for a thin, crispy crust.
  4. Cut Dough: Cut the dough into circles or squares large enough to fit into your ramekins, leaving about 1 inch of dough hanging over the edges.
  5. Form Crust: Gently press the dough into the bottom and sides of each ramekin to form the pie crust base.
  6. Add Sauce: Spoon about 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce into the bottom of each crust for a flavorful foundation.
  7. Add Cheese: Sprinkle 2-3 tablespoons of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce to create a cheesy layer.
  8. Add Toppings: Place a few slices of pepperoni or your choice of toppings on top of the cheese.
  9. Season: Sprinkle grated Parmesan, dried oregano, basil, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes evenly over the fillings to boost flavor.
  10. Top with Cheese and Cover: Add more mozzarella cheese on top, then fold the overhanging dough over the filling to partially cover it, sealing the edges.
  11. Brush with Olive Oil: Optionally brush the tops with olive oil for a golden, crispy finish after baking.
  12. Bake: Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  13. Cool: Remove from oven and let the pot pies cool for 5 minutes to set and prevent burns.
  14. Serve: Serve the pizza pot pies hot, optionally with extra marinara sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • You can customize toppings to your liking such as mushrooms, bell peppers, olives, or sausage.
  • If using homemade pizza dough, ensure it is well chilled for easier rolling and shaping.
  • Let the pies cool slightly before serving to avoid burning your mouth.
  • Brush with olive oil or melted butter for an extra crispy and flavorful crust.
  • For a spicier kick, increase the red pepper flakes or add a dash of crushed chili powder.
