Ingredients

Scale

Dip Base

  • 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Cheeses

  • ½ cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated, divided
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, freshly shredded, divided

Seafood and Garnish

  • 2 (6 oz) cans white crab meat, drained
  • 2 tbsp fresh chives, plus more for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Base: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, lime juice, red pepper flakes, salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Use a hand mixer or whisk to blend the ingredients until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add Cheeses and Crab: Add ¾ cup of shredded mozzarella, ¼ cup of grated parmesan cheese, drained white crab meat, garlic powder, and chopped fresh chives to the base mixture. Gently fold all ingredients together using a spatula until evenly incorporated.
  3. Assemble in Baking Dish: Transfer the crab mixture into a small baking dish or pie dish, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the remaining ¼ cup mozzarella and ¼ cup parmesan cheese evenly on top.
  4. Bake the Dip: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese on top is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden brown.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Remove the dip from the oven and garnish with additional fresh chives. Serve warm with crackers, baguette slices, or fresh vegetables for dipping.

Notes

  • Ensure the crab meat is well-drained to avoid a watery dip.
  • You can substitute lime juice with lemon juice for a slightly different citrus note.
  • For extra heat, increase the red pepper flakes or add a dash of hot sauce to the mixture.
  • Use freshly grated cheeses for the best melting and flavor.
  • This dip can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated; bake just before serving.
