Ingredients
- 600 ml milk (full fat or semi-skimmed) (2 1/2 cups)
- 45 g semolina (1/4 cup / 12 tsp)
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- Boil the milk: Pour the milk into a medium saucepan and heat over medium heat together with the sugar and half of the ground cinnamon. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil while stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar and blend the cinnamon flavor.
- Add semolina and thicken: Gradually whisk the semolina into the boiling milk mixture continuously for about 2 minutes. This constant whisking prevents lumps and allows the pudding to thicken and bubble gently.
- Remove from heat: Once the pudding has thickened to a creamy consistency, remove the pan from the heat and transfer the pudding into a serving bowl.
- Add toppings and serve: Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon on top of the pudding, or add your choice of jam, fresh fruit, or nuts to enhance the flavor and texture. Serve warm for best taste.
Notes
- Stir continuously when adding semolina to avoid lumps forming.
- Use full-fat milk for a richer and creamier pudding or semi-skimmed milk for a lighter version.
- The pudding can be served hot or chilled, depending on your preference.
- You can sweeten the pudding with honey or maple syrup as an alternative to granulated sugar.
- Try garnishing with sliced almonds, berries, or a dollop of jam for added flavor and texture.
