Ingredients

Scale

Salmon

  • 4 salmon fillets (56 ounces each), skin-on or skinless

Boursin Topping

  • 1 Boursin cheese round (5.2 oz) – garlic & fine herbs flavor preferred
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter, divided
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Garnish and Serving

  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional garnish)
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure it reaches the perfect temperature for baking the salmon evenly.
  2. Prepare Baking Dish: Lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  3. Make Boursin Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the Boursin cheese, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, and half of the olive oil or melted butter. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and well incorporated.
  4. Season Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry using a paper towel. Drizzle the remaining olive oil or melted butter over each fillet, then season with salt and black pepper evenly.
  5. Arrange Salmon: Place the salmon fillets in the prepared baking dish, skin side down if the fillets have skin.
  6. Apply Boursin Topping: Spoon the prepared Boursin cheese mixture evenly over the top of each salmon fillet. Gently spread with the back of a spoon to cover the entire surface.
  7. Bake Salmon: Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets. The salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  8. Rest and Garnish: Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for 2 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side for added freshness.

Notes

  • You can use either skin-on or skinless salmon fillets depending on your preference.
  • Adjust salt and seasoning according to taste and dietary needs.
  • If you don’t have Boursin cheese, a cream cheese mixture with garlic and herbs can be used as an alternative.
  • Ensure salmon is cooked to an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) for safety.
  • Resting the salmon briefly after baking helps retain juices and enhances flavor.
