This 5-Ingredient Football Dip is a quick and delicious party favorite, perfect for game day or casual gatherings. Layers of creamy softened cream cheese, tangy salsa, seasoned ground beef, and sharp cheddar cheese come together in a warm, bubbly dip that’s ready in just 35 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat and Seasoning

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 tbsp taco seasoning

Dairy and Salsa

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (8 oz) jar salsa (mild, medium, or hot)
  • 1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Cook Beef: Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C). In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until it is fully browned and no pink remains. Drain any excess fat and then stir in the taco seasoning until the beef is well coated.
  2. Layer the Dip: In a pie dish, spread the softened cream cheese evenly over the bottom. Pour the salsa on top of the cream cheese layer, spreading it gently. Next, spoon the seasoned ground beef evenly over the salsa. Finally, sprinkle the shredded sharp cheddar cheese evenly over the meat layer.
  3. Bake the Dip: Cover the pie dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove from the oven and serve warm with your favorite dippers such as tortilla chips, crackers, or vegetables.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef to reduce fat and prevent greasy dip.
  • Choose salsa based on your preferred heat level: mild, medium, or hot.
  • Let the cream cheese soften at room temperature for easier spreading.
  • This dip can be prepared ahead of time and baked just before serving.
  • For extra flavor, garnish with chopped green onions or fresh cilantro if desired.
